Sports Value’s methodology includes an annual adjustment to each club’s valuation, deducting operational liabilities.

Tax-related debts and stadium-related obligations were not considered. The valuation reflects only the liabilities arising from the clubs’ operating activities.

A club’s valuation, net of its operational debt, is essential to understanding its true financial position.

Valuation vs. Total Revenue

Comparison: Europe vs. U.S. vs. Brazil vs. Mexico

The Brazilian market still trails significantly behind the valuations seen in MLS and Europe.

MLS, according to Sportico, is valued at US$ 21 billion, while the TOP 30 Brazilian clubs total US$ 8.9 billion.

Among the world’s 40 most valuable football clubs, only Flamengo (US$ 962 million), Palmeiras (US$ 829 million), and Corinthians (US$ 749 million) are represented.

An interesting comparison emerges with Mexican clubs, as Club América is valued at US$ 770 million and Chivas Guadalajara at US$ 730 million, placing them in direct competition with the top Brazilian teams.

Brand Value

Club revenues improved, which positively impacted brand valuations.

Brand value increased by 25%, reaching US$ 2.5 billion for the TOP 30 clubs for the first time.

Stadium Asset Management

In this year’s study, Sports Value presents an exclusive special feature on stadium and arena management as a key driver of valuation growth.

The valuation of Brazilian football clubs can increase significantly through higher revenues generated by their stadiums, both on matchdays and through a wide range of non-matchday events.

According to Sports Value’s analysis, a well-managed stadium generates higher revenues, which enhances the club’s brand value. In addition, the appreciation of fixed assets also increases the stadium’s contribution to overall valuation.

Brazilian stadiums are underutilized in terms of revenue generation and valuation, even when compared with Argentine clubs.
