Brazilian football clubs’ finances in 2017

Sports Value has just launched a survey about Brazilian football clubs’ finances in 2017.

In 2017, the Brazilian football market moved a total of R$ 6.25 billion in revenues. The top 20 Brazilian clubs account for 81% of this total.

These 20 teams saw their revenues grow 4% in 2017. The volume generated was R$ 5.05 billion, compared to the R$ 4.85 billion in 2016.

The football costs for the 20 teams reached R$ 3.5 billion in 2017, compared to R$ 2.9 billion in 2016. It is the highest value ever recorded by clubs throughout the history of Brazilian football.

The clubs ended 2017 with net profits of R$ 28 million, compared to R$ 443 million in 2016 and R$ 173 million in 2015.

Net debts reached R$ 6.76 billion in 2017, compared to R$ 6.63 billion in 2016, up 2%.
